UNO strategy involves card counting, color control, timing your action cards perfectly and watching your opponents' hand sizes.
Essential tips
- Change to a color you have many cards of — this gives you more plays on future turns
- Save action cards (Skip, Reverse, +2) for when opponents are close to winning
- Watch hand sizes: when an opponent has 3–4 cards, start saving your block cards
- Don't play your last card of a color if you'll need that color later — keep options open
- Use Reverse to skip aggressive players and give friendly plays to those farther behind
- In 2-player UNO, Reverse acts like Skip — use it to play twice in a row
