- Keep your action cards until they're maximally useful — don't waste +2 when no one is close to winning
- If two opponents are both low on cards, target the one closest to winning with your blockers
- In multi-round games, track scores — sometimes taking a small loss in a round to save cards for next round is correct
- Practice UNO against AI on Hard difficulty to train reaction time and card-saving instincts
- Never announce 'UNO' if you can avoid drawing attention — some players save their blockers for the person who calls it
