Essential tips
- Hard totals: always stand on 17+, always hit on 8 or less
- Hard 9-11: double down against weak dealer cards (4-6), hit against strong dealer cards (7-Ace)
- Hard 12-16: stand against weak dealer (4-6), hit against strong dealer (7-Ace)
- Soft totals (with Ace): soft 17 or below — always hit or double. Soft 18 — stand against 2-8, hit against 9-Ace
- Always split Aces and 8s — Aces can give you two strong hands; 8s turn a hard 16 (worst hand) into two decent starts
- Never split 10s or 5s — 20 is too strong to break up; double down on two 5s instead
