UNO uses a deck of 108 cards (four colored suits of 0-9, action cards, and Wild cards). The goal: be the first to empty your hand.
Setup & Deal
Shuffle all cards. Deal 7 cards to each player. Place remaining cards face-down as the draw pile. Flip the top card face-up to start the discard pile (if it's a Wild Draw Four, bury it and flip another).
How to Play
Match the top discard card by COLOR or NUMBER/SYMBOL. Play one card per turn. If you can't play, draw one card (you may play it immediately if it matches). Play continues clockwise.
Skip Card
The next player in turn loses their turn and play passes to the player after them.
Reverse Card
Changes the direction of play. In 2-player games, Reverse acts like Skip.
Draw Two (+2)
The next player must draw 2 cards and lose their turn. Cannot be stacked (in standard rules).
Wild Card
Change the active color to any color you choose. Can be played at any time on your turn.
Wild Draw Four (+4)
Change the color AND the next player draws 4 cards and loses their turn. Can only be played when you have no cards matching the current color. Challenging: if the next player suspects illegal play, they can challenge — if they're right, the card player draws 4 instead.
Calling UNO
When you play your second-to-last card, you must say 'UNO' before the next player takes their turn. If caught not saying it, draw 2 penalty cards.
Winning
The first player to empty their hand wins the round. In multi-round games, the winner scores the total value of cards remaining in opponents' hands.
