Ludo is a classic race board game for 2–4 players, derived from the ancient Indian game Pachisi. Each player races 4 pieces from their starting area to the home column.
Basic Rules
Roll the die to move. You need a 6 to enter a piece from the starting area onto the board. Pieces move clockwise around the outer track, then up the home column. Landing exactly on an opponent's piece sends it back to start. Rolling a 6 gives you an extra turn.
Safe Squares
Colored squares marked with a star are safe zones — pieces on safe squares cannot be captured. Using safe squares strategically protects your most advanced pieces.
Winning Strategy
Get out early: Use every 6 to bring out new pieces rather than moving the same piece far ahead.
Target leaders: Prioritize sending back the opponent's most advanced pieces.
Protect near-home pieces: Pieces in the final stretch are most vulnerable — keep them on safe squares when possible.
Spread risk: Keeping multiple pieces in play reduces the impact of unlucky rolls.
